Mitsubishi Motors Canada Drives to End Hunger for the Fifth Year

October 17, 2025 -- Mississauga, ON

This year marks the fifth anniversary of Mitsubishi Motor Sales of Canada's (MMSCAN) national Driving to End Hunger campaign -- a heartfelt initiative uniting Mitsubishi dealerships and communities across the country to help fight food insecurity.

Throughout several weeks leading up to World Food Day on October 16, Mitsubishi dealerships from coast to coast collected monetary and food donations in support of Food Banks Canada and local food banks nationwide.

Together, Mitsubishi Motors Canada and its 97 dealerships raised a combined $316,000 and gathered more than 4,690 kilograms of food. Beyond dealership efforts, MMSCAN's head office and Parts Distribution Centre teams in Mississauga contributed through food drives and volunteer work -- all part of their shared mission to make a difference.

Since the campaign's launch in 2021, Mitsubishi Motors Canada and its dealer network have donated more than $1.1 million to national and local food bank organizations.

"I want to thank our dealers, customers, and the communities our Mitsubishi Motors stores serve for giving generously to this important cause," said Kenichi Kawaji, President and CEO of Mitsubishi Motor Sales of Canada. "Having every one of our Canadian dealers take part in the Driving to End Hunger campaign speaks to their commitment to community and the values that define the Mitsubishi brand."

Kirstin Beardsley, CEO of Food Banks Canada, shared her appreciation:

"World Food Day is a time to raise awareness of hunger and poverty and inspire action. We are incredibly grateful to Mitsubishi Motors and its dealerships for donating more than $316,000 in food and funding this year. Thanks to their generosity, we can continue working toward our vision of a Canada where no one goes hungry."
